Complaints

At Appletons Solicitors we try to provide the best possible service to our clients and in order to do this we need to know from you if you feel dissatisfied with any aspect of the service that you receive.

We recognise that occasionally you may wish to raise concerns about the service you have received. Should you have any complaint about any aspect of our service or our charges, in the first instance we suggest that you raise these with the person dealing with your case.

Alternatively, if you wish to raise a formal complaint, you can do so by email: asif.khan@appletonssolicitors.co.uk or in writing to Mr Asif Khan, Complaints Manager and Partner, at Appletons Solicitors, Office 309, Hub 26, Hunsworth Lane, Cleckheaton, West Yorkshire. BD19 4LN.

Making a complaint will not affect how we handle your case.

Should you require a copy of our complaints procedure, please let us know and we will provide you with a copy. The Solicitors Regulation Authority can help you if you are concerned about our behaviour. This could be for things like dishonesty, taking or losing your money or treating you unfairly because of your age, a disability or other characteristic.

If at the conclusion of our complaints process you are not satisfied with the outcome you can ask the Legal Ombudsman (address PO Box 6806, Wolverhampton WV1 9WJ, website www.legalombudsman.org.uk, telephone 0300 555 0333) to consider the complaint. The Legal Ombudsman will expect you to have given your lawyer a chance to resolve your complaint before it will get involved. Normally, you will need to bring a complaint to the Legal Ombudsman no later than twelve months after you discovered the problem and within six months of receiving a final written response from us about your complaint.
